On June 26th, Asia Legal Business (“ALB”)-one of the most influential legal publications in the world released its list of “China’s Top General Counsel in 2015”, and General Manager of COAMC’s legal department Wu Guangyao was selected to be on the list, making him one of the best corporate general counsels in China.
Asia Legal Business mentioned in the review that Mr. Wu, with his profound legal knowledge and rich practical experiences, has been engaged in legal work since 1998. In the past five years, Mr. Wu participated in almost every COAMC’s large-scale strategic project, and assisted COAMC in completing deals like acquiring China United Property Insurance. Furthermore, Mr. Wu has greatly promoted managerial innovation and standardization of legal documents. The legal department under his leadership has won the “Outstanding Department”title for three consecutive fiscal years.
Asia Legal Business is a world leading legal magazine under Thomson Reuters that enjoys worldwide prestige. This year’s list was published after more than one month of research, and 15 general counsels in renowned enterprises made the final list. The selection adopted a three-pronged approach, which considered self-recommendations of general counsels, references from partners or lawyers, and judgment of the ALB research team. The selection examined five aspects including the level of difficulty and importance of the general counsels’ jobs, the important projects initiated by the general counsels, how long they have engaged in their work, their legal and award-winning experiences.
