At two thirty-four in the afternoon on June 30, a fire broke out in the wood mill on Dahongmen North Road in Fengtai District Beijing. The fire originated in the colored steel plate section in the mill. It was reported that the buildings and equipment in the mill were insured by the Beijing Branch of China United Property Insurance under approximately RMB 56 million.

Journalists found out that after the accident, China Property Insurance Beijing carried out its emergency response plan in the earliest hour and formed an emergency relief team. The team went to the site promptly after the accident and set up a fast track for claims settlement.

After verification, China Insurance confirmed that the wood mill was covered by All Risks Property Insurance. The buildings and office equipment were insured under approximately RMB 56 million whereas the stock and timber in the warehouse were not insured. China Property Insurance sent its special inspector to the fire scene half hour after the accident to carry out investigations, help calm the emotions of the insured, and assist the insured in a ten-hour preliminary investigation and inventory overnight.

In the morning of July 1st, Deputy Manager of China Property Insurance Beijing Branch Li Fujian and settlement staff went to the accident site and sent regards to the distressed company. By the time this paper went to press, the fire scene was completely locked down; there weren’t any casualties; and the cause of the fire was still being investigated.

Responsible officials from China Property Insurance assured that they would take care of the claims settlements efficiently and help the company stop losses and restore production.
